Local athletes came to the fore at high-profile meetings at the weekend.
Worcester Park's Phil Wicks achieved the best cross country result of his career, finishing second in the men's title at the English national cross country championships at Alton Towers.
Steph Twell, a student at St Mary's University in Twickenham, went one better in the junior women's event, cruising to victory by almost 30 seconds.
And in Birmingham, Sutton teenager Jade Ive leapt into the record books by becoming the first British woman under the age of 20 to clear 4m in the pole vault.
