Surbiton's Rob Moore was captain as Great Britain held world number one Germany to two draws and a narrow victory in three Tests last week.
Of his five clubmates from the Long Ditton-based side, Matt Daly was the only one to trouble the scorers, converting from a penalty corner in Saturday's 4-4 draw at Essen.
That came after GB had held the gold medal favourites for Beijing to a 2-2 in Dusseldorf last Thursday.
The hosts regained some pride on Sunday morning, winning 2-1.
Moore, Daly and Surbiton clubmates Ben Marsden, Ben Hawes, Richard Alexander and James Tindall are aiming to be among the 16 players who make it on the plane to China, with the squad to be announced on June 20.
