Ashford BC have been in action in a variety of different matches recently.

LADIES' MATCH - ASHFORD 50 v WINDSOR GREAT PARK 60 Windsor won all three triples. This was sweet revenge for the defeat at Ashford at the end of last season.

LADIES' MATCH - ASHFORD 57 v EGHAM 38 Ashford bounced back after their defeat a couple of days earlier.

Ashford won two triples to Egham's one and had a considerable winning margin.

Top scorers were M.Law, M.Gammon, J.Adams who won 26 - 7. Ashford travel to Egham in a couple of weeks time, where Egham will be seeking revenge.

MEN'S NATIONAL TWO FOURS COMPETITION - MASONIANS 37 v ASHFORD 36 Ashford were narrowly beaten in this competition. Playing on a challenging surface, Ashford struggled at the start and were trailing by 12 shots mid way through the match.

However they refused to give up the fight. With one rink finishing level at 19 - 19 the match was to be decided by the second rink. At 19 ends their score was also level which gave an exciting finish to the game.

Masonians then won 3 shots to put them in a commanding position.

Ashford responded well on the last end and were holding 3 shots to level the game, unfortunately the Masonians Skip removed one of those shots to win his team the match.

THAMES VALLEY LEAGUE - ASHFORD 3 pts v STAINES 8 pts Having two competitions to play at the same time meant that Ashford had to use a large pool of players. Staines dominated the proceedings and won three of the four triples played. Ashford managed to win one rink away at Staines to salvage three points.

MIXED MATCH - ASHFORD 94 v BURNHAM 58 This was Burnham's first visit to Ashford. They were greeted with fine weather and enjoyed a pleasant afternoons bowling.

However Ashford were less charitable with the score and made amends for last years narrow defeat away at Burnham.

Both clubs are looking forward to playing each other in future years. Ashford's top scorers were C.Daines, A.Reason, B.Duckworth winning 24 - 10.

MIXED MATCH - DENHAM 119 v ASHFORD 111 This was another new fixture for Ashford. Travelling to Denham on hot afternoon they were looking forward to a good game.

The match was fairly even, with both teams winning two rinks and one rink drawing, but Denham ran out as overall winners with a slightly superior score.
