Oxford University’s Sean Renfer claimed bragging rights over his Cambridge rivals with victory in the Mazda Blenheim Triathlon Varsity Race in Bickinghamshore last week.
The Esher resident finished the 750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run in one hour, six minutes, 31 seconds to beat second-placed James Third – who claimed first place in his age group – by 30 seconds.
Twickenham’s Stuart Hayes claimed the men’s elite title in 01:01:10, while Raynes Park’s Jonathan Hotchkiss failed to finish.
