In his third appearance, unattached runner Andrew Mercer (SM35-39) won for the second time in 16 minutes 42 seconds, heading the field of 147 runners.

Gareth Creagh (SM30-34), representing Walton AC, took second place in 16:57, earning himself a PB as he dipped below 17 minutes for the first time.

Third-placed David Symons, (VM40-44) of Thames Hare & Hounds, was not far behind in 17:04.

Another third-time runner, Ella Benedict (JW15-19), claimed her maiden victory in 20:52.

She beat Clare Naden (VW35-39), representing Clapham Chasers RC, by 13 seconds.

Wimbledon Common parkrun regular Geraldine Hellings, (VW45-49) had a great run to finish third in a time of 21:09.

Almost a year to the day, and 34 races on, she beat her previous PB by an astonishing 34 seconds.

In the age-graded competition, David Symons recorded a performance of 79.98 per cent.

In the points competition, Andrew K Davies has a lead of 202 points over second-placed Ian Higgins.

Nicola El Kadiri leads Geraldine Hellings by 264 in the women's competition.

This week there were 15 first timers.
