Thirteen runners from South London Harriers participated in the annual Man v Horse mountain marathon in Llanwrtyd Wells, Wales last weekend.
Runners compete against horse-riders over an ardous, hilly terrain of 22 miles and this year the race was won by a horse and rider in two hours and 11 minutes.
Antonio Martins (o/50), Paul Mitchell (o/40), Nicolas Lee and Peter Emery (o/50) completed the full course of 22 miles with Antonio Martins taking third over 50 veteran prize with his time of 2.22.33 hours.
Sandra Hughes, Nina Pinterton, Jenny Grant, Clare Settle, Marketa Martins, Pam Iannella, Jeanette Leigh, Zoe Simek and Caroline Cattino formed three teams to run the route in relays of seven miles plus each and all successfully completed the course.
