Sutton Runners took part in two 5k time trials on Saturday.

At the Bedfont Lakes race, father-and-son duo James and Stephen Barber took part, with Stephen finishing third overall in a time of 18 minutes 24 seconds, followed in 37th place by his dad in 23.03.

At Banstead Woods, 14 members took part. The first woman home was Vicky Foad in 11th place in a personal best time of 19.50.

Two more PBs were achieved, by Tony Moorhouse in 19.51 (12th) and then by Earl Tuloch 20.13 (20th).

The third woman home was Lauren Jones 21.27 (41st). Other times: Mark Wingham 20.15 (21st), Graham Miller 20.36 (31st), Jenny Sinfield 22.49 (62nd), Claire Ballhatchet 26.33 (114th), Kaye Benjamin 26.45 (116th), Jess Walsh 28.39 (144th), John Daley 28.40 (145th), Tricia Cue 28.44 (147th), Dominque Dixon 29.22 first 5K (154th), Pauline Woodman 29.51 (156th).

This weekend also marked the second anniversary of the Banstead Woods 5k time trial, with awards for the past 12 months being given out.

Ballhatchet was named second woman in the overall series and Cue fourth.

Also on Saturday, at the Herne Hill Track Meeting 5k, Andrew Nippard finished seventh overall in a time of 17.37.

The longest race of the weekend was held in Belgium. Jim Mundy took part in the Torhout 100k race, which started at 8pm on Friday evening and finished on Saturday. Mundy completed the race in 11:58.31.
