Some of the world’s leading players will take part in a Senior Open Golf Tournament at the beautiful Selsdon Park Hotel starting on Thursday, July 15, writes Gail Sinden.
The tournament, which runs until Sunday, will be an opportunity for many senior professionals to warm up for the Senior British Open at Sunningdale.
Confirmed entrants at Selsdon include Jim Lapsey, the New Zealand Senior Open champion and Kevin Dickens, the European tour player who finished second in the Belgium Open and won the Stiftland Masters.
Dr Arthur Spring and John Green, double winners of the Senior Pro Golf Tour of Europe, and Chris Hooper and Jay Dolan from the United States will be joined by a number of players from the Far East.
Chris Baron, director of golf at Selsdon Park, said: “Our championship course is a traditional mature parkland course that I am sure will prove a challenge to many of the senior pros and give them an excellent chance to warm up prior to the Senior British Open.”
