The Ashford men played well but began with a setback in losing the singles but were undeterred and went on to win the pairs and triples to give themselves a deserved victory.
Ashford will now meet Egham in the next round.
Wed 8th July THAMES VALLEY LEAGUE MATCH
ASHFORD 6pts v BISHOP DUPPAS 6pts
Both teams won their away ties but were unable to impress at home to claim an outright win. However Ashford and Bishop Duppas each get 6 points for the away wins rather than 4 points for home wins.
Thu 9th July LADIES' MATCH
WINDSOR & ETON 45 v ASHFORD 51
Ashford won two triples to one to win this match. The game was finely balanced throughout the afternoon with both teams leading and then falling behind again.
However, Ashford just managed to edge out their opponents in the latter stage of the game to claim victory.
Ashford's highest scorers were J.Sayers, A.Anderson, J.Webber with a 21-14 win.
Sat 11th July MIDDLESEX LADIES TOP CLUB COMPETITION
ASHFORD 1 v BROOMFIELD 3 The Ashford Ladies have had some good results in this competition but were beaten by Broomfield.
Ashford were given a lift when they heard that Broomfield were unable to field their England player. Broomfield are a strong club and were able to claim victory despite Ashfords' challenge.
MIXED MATCH
HEATHERVALE 67 v ASHFORD 102
Ashford won four of the five triples played. The losing rink only lost by one shot at the last end of the game. Ashford led from the start and were never in danger of losing this match.
Top scorers for Ashford were D.Mitchell, B.Law, R.Searle who won 21 - 7.
Sun 12th July RICHMOND BARNES & DISTRICT LEAGUE
ASHFORD 3pts v TEDDINGTON 1pt
Ashford were looking for the maximum four points in this match to consolidate their top spot in the league table.
However Teddington had their own plan and put up a brave fight for the spoils. Teddinton snatched a point by winning one of the three rinks played.
Ashford were quite happy to get the other three points to extend their lead at the top of the table.
