Don de Graaff was in fine form at rounds four and five of the Protyre Formula Renault Championship at the Croft Circuit in Darlington.

Qualifying on Saturday did not go to plan for the Weybridge racer as he only managed eleventh for race one and ninth for race two after struggling in the qualification sessions.

Race one took place on Sunday morning with Don lining up on the grid in eleventh place. After a brilliant start don was up to seventh place at the end of lap one making up an impressive 4 places.

On lap two he continued to make progress pulling of an impressive move at the last hairpin to overtake two cars to move into fifth place.

Don then chased down the battle for third place between Brett Parris and Josh Mulholland, then on lap 7 he dived past Brett Parris at the last hairpin to take 4th place.

Don then tried his best to find a way past Mulholland for the final place on the podium.

Don crossed the finish line in fourth place just over a second shy of his second podium of the year. Don made up more places then anyone else during the race fighting through from eleventh on the grid to claim fourth.

Race two saw Don starting from ninth on the grid. After a good start Don held position in ninth.

Entering the complex on lap one he tried a move on Joe Crook for eighth place but Crook turned into him and the pair made contact resulting in don dropping back but holding on to ninth position.

Throughout the race he chased down Joe crook but could not find a way past. There was a train from third place to ninth all head to tail.

With all the drivers doing identical times it was difficult to make progress up the field.

Don crossed the line ninth with just 1.9s covering the five cars from fourth place to ninth.

Even though Don did not get the result he wanted in race two his lap times throughout the race were good enough for him to have finished within the top four.

After another solid race weekend Don has held position in fifth and is still in contention for a top three finish in the championship.

The next round takes place at Donnington Park which will be host to the British Grandprix in 2010.
