Chipstead Golf Club in the picturesque Chipstead Valley has come up with two ground breaking membership schemes aimed at encouraging more players from Surrey to join the club.

Gary Torbett, director of golf, who a decade ago was teeing up in the British Open Championship at Muirfield, said: "It is crunch time for many private members golf clubs in terms of membership and here at Chipstead we are tackling the matter head on by launching this month two new schemes aimed at making it far easier to play affordable golf."

The first new offering from the club is an 18-35 ‘Go and Play’ membership for 18-35 year-old players, costing just £460 per year, and a £15 per round green fee.

"This scheme enables the younger player to control how much they spend on golf when often they have other commitments,” said Gary.

‘Go and Play’ members have full playing rights over seven days along with the social benefits of the 103-year old club.

The second new scheme from the Chipstead Club is ‘Winter Membership’.

“We know of many people who play, cricket, tennis, bowls and other sports in the Summer months and therefore are not in the market to join a golf club for a full 12 months,” said Gary.

‘Winter Membership’ is available for £450 and allows unrestricted play between October through until the end of April and social membership for a full 12 months.
