Five Collingwood runners took part in Saturday’s inaugural Roundshaw Downs 5k park run, with Andrew Griffin leading the way in 26th (25:17).
Other members included Annette Helliwell (46th in 36:18) and her son Alex, and Jessica and Callum Dunning. Jessica retired injured, with young Callum deciding on just the one lap.
At Banstead Woods, Steve Cooney was eight in 19:49, Shaun Cooney 11th in 20:01, Andy Stalley (M40) 20th in 21:11, Nigel Pointer 42nd in 22:52 and Gill Stalley 100th in 30:41.
Nine Collingwood members competed in Saturday’s Elmore 7, a pleasant, traffic-free seven-mile race along undulating country lanes around Chipstead on Saturday afternoon.

In the Kent 50 Mile Challenge on Sunday, Allan Rumbles ran his 79th marathon in completing this ultra event.
He ran an amazing 52.5 miles in 7:20, finished third over all and first male veteran.
A great achievement given the course record is seven hours, one minute!
A small contingent of Collingwood runners took part in Sunday’s Fairlands Valley Challenge, a 26.2 mile off-road route-narrative marathon starting and finishing in Stevenage, Herts.
Steve Cooney and Stalley finished strongly together in 3:53:24, a course best by 14 minutes for both.
Dave Ross and Mel Johnstone set off 30 minutes after that pair. Ross came home in 3:49 and Johnstone in 4:37.
