At last Saturday’s Banstead Wood 5km parkrun, Sutton Runners AC had 16 club members participate.
Fiona Park and Dominique Dixon earned personal bests of 22 minutes, 49 seconds and 29:20 respectively.
Two other members, Brian Park and Emily Beach, were running in this event for the first time, finishing in 48th and 85th positions.
Results: Earl Tulloch 20.42 15th, Graham Miller 20.55 17th, Fiona Park 22.49 40th PB, Brian Park 23.25 48th 1st, Jenny Sinfield 23.26 49th, Avi Shirodkar 23.37 52nd, Therese Panetta 24.19 60th, Tony Moorhouse 25.34 65th, Lauren Jones 25.37 66th, Steven Clarke 26.43 72nd, Wendy Jones 28.30 82nd, Jess Walsh 28.38 83rd, Emily Beach 28.48 85th 1st, Dominique Dixon 29.20 87th PB, Sue McIntyre 33.29 113th, Patricia Cue 33.29 114th Saturday also marked the running of the inaugural Roundshaw Parkrun in Croydon, in which Sutton Runner Terry Dighton finished a creditable 16th in 21:53.
Over at Richmond Park, James Barber took part and finished in 23:07.
On Sunday, club members Luis Gomez and Jon Senker took part in the Dartford Half Marathon, where both had good runs, including a personal best for Senker .
Results: Luis Gomez 1.19.21 12th, Jon Senker 1.29.21 49th PB Marathon man Jim Mundy, meanwhile, decided running a marathon in the day was to easy so decided to run one at night finishing Marshalls Midnight Challenge in 6.19, with a torch strapped to his head.
Steven Barber, despite a sore foot, ran his first marathon for many years and ran an excellent time of 3:53 in the off-road Fairlands Valley Challenge.
