Woodmansterne 2nd XI claimed a much-deserved victory over Kingstonian on Saturday.
Woods won the toss and asked Kingstonian to bat on a slightly damp wicket.
The Woodmansterne captain Hiren Patel was beginning to regret his decision as the Kingstonian batsmen took full advantage of some early over pitched bowling.
It took until the 10th over before the breakthrough was made after which the Woods attack began to dominate proceedings.
Wise (45) and Fuller (43) were the main contributers and some lusty blows by Khan (33 no) allowed a total of 180 to be posted.
The pick of the bowlers Chamberlayne 4-42 and Movel 4-50 were supported by some excellent fielding.
With Hiren Patel (21) and Wilson (53) posting 50+ for the first wicket for the 5th consecutive time, Clisby (26) and Goodwin (27) built the foundation for the Woods reply.
With 15 runs required from 4 overs a late order collapse meant that Woods needed one run from the final ball to claim victory.
Ralph Patel turned back the years to run the fastest single of his career giving Woods a well deserved victory.
