Teddington’s Paul Dancy claimed seven wickets as captain Toby Bailey’s men moved to second in the Middlesex County League Premier Division table behind defending champions Ealing.

Dancy’s figures of 7-50 saw Eastcote capitulate to 96 all out at Bushy Park, before Charl Malan’s unbeaten 40 steered his side to victory by eight-wickets inside 20 overs.

With rivals Hampstead and Finchley playing at a draw in north London, Teddington leap-frogged the pair in to second-place but remain 21 points adrift of Ealing at the top.

Basement boys Richmond gave their chances of beating the drop a lift as they battled to a winning draw at mid-table Brondesbury to move them to within a win of safety.

Cameron Francis (43) spearheaded a solid batting performance that saw the visitors post 210 for eight, before Ami Banerjee (4-38) kept the hosts in check as they held on to draw having been reduced to 94 for five.

Twickenham kept up their promotion challenge with a convincing triumph over Division Two whipping boys North London on the Green.

Skipper Carlos Nunes struck an unbeaten 111, with support from Warwick Paull (73), Dave Russell (34) and JP Cronje (34) helping Ts to a mammoth 273 for five from 49 overs.

North London battled hard for the draw, but with returning pace man Justin Scriven claiming five for 34 and England indoor international Clint McCabe chipping in with three for 13, it was a lost cause as they were dismissed for 125.

In Division Three, skipper James Drake-Brockman (56) and opener Joe Taylor (87*) helped Barnes keep their hopes of promotion alive as they successfully chased visitors Highgate’s 200 all out for the loss of seven wickets.
