Sutton Churches Tennis Club’s finals day was a big success, with Brigitte Blackburn, who was unseeded, beating last year’s champion, Kirsty Garrett, in a thrilling three-set women’s singles final that lasted nearly three hours.
Garrett then went on to get revenge in the women’s doubles with her partner, Heather Hooper, against Blackburn and her partner Dominique Delhalle.
In the men’s singles final, Richard Emmett defeated Ross Shaw in straight sets. In the men’s doubles, Shaw was victorious with partner Andy Fulcher.
