David Lloyd Raynes Park is the only club in the UK to have reached the newly formed girls and boys U12s Premier League Finals to be held at the National Tennis Centre on Saturday.
The girls’ team of Jasmine Asghar, Emily Boden, Lauren Horsford, Bolor Enkhbayer and Sara Howard saw off Next Generation- Swindon, West Hants-Dorset, Sutton Tennis Academy-Sutton, Win Tennis in Bisham, White Horse Tennis and Leisure Centre- Oxford.
The boys’ team of Nicholas Nugent, Freddie McGeehan, Omari Maxwell, Alistair Gray, and Jake Davies battled through against Win Tennis in Bisham, Withdean in Brighton, Sutton Tennis Academy and Park Langley in Kent.
The girls then defeated Batchwood Tennis Academy (a Higher National Performance Centre) in th semi-finals, with the boys seeing off Bath Academy (a full time LTA Academy).
The teams will now represent the South of England against the North of England (Bolton for the girls and Carnegie from Leeds for the boys) tomorrow.
Ronnie Maxwell, director of performance at David Lloyd, Raynes Park, said: "We are absolutely delighted with the success of our U12 teams in this premier event. Both the boys and girls worked really hard and fully deserve to reach the final."
