Ashford BC tasted both glory and agony last week having competed in a variety of competitions.
THAMES VALLEY LEAGUE 1/2/3 COMPETITION
EGHAM v ASHFORD
Ashford's good run in this competition came to an abrupt end against a strong Egham side. Egham won all disciplines in this encounter.
Ashford did not play as well as in previous rounds and let themselves down badly.
THAMES VALLEY LEAGUE
ASHFORD 7pts v SUNBURY 2pts
Ashford recovered well after mondays defeat, winning the two home games and one away game to gain seven points to Sunburys two points.
Ashford came close to taking a maximum ten points but Sunbury won the fourth game by just two shots.The best result for Ashford was by Dennis Ayton, W.Moody,D.Coleman who won 30 - 9.
TRIANGULAR TOURNAMENT
STANELL v STAINES v ASHFORD
This tournament between the three local clubs is in its thirtyninth season now.
This year it was held at Stanwell and was played with a good spirit by all of the players. The result was a second succesive win for Ashford (10 pts) with Stanwell (8 pts) and Staines ( 6 pts) close behind. Ashford went into the final session needing just one win from three games to secure the match, which they duly managed.
Ashford will be looking for a third win when the tournament is played at Staines next year.
