Weybridge earned a winning draw in Saturday's clash against Wimbledon.
They made a good start having won the toss.
The young opening batsmen put on 59 in twelve overs before Seren Waters (38) was caught at deep mid off. At lunch, Ansari (49) and Abeed Janmohamed (52) had taken the total to 145 without further loss.
Ansari was forced to retire hurt, having suffered from severe stomach cramps for most of his innings. Janmohamed and Will Gifford enjoyed themselves at the bowlers expense with both reaching their centuries in fine style.
Janmohamed had fifteen fours and two sixes in his 125 not out and Gifford had ten fours and six sixes in his 104 not out, the innings being declared on 323 for the loss of the one wicket.
A good over rate in the field meant that the home team had two extra overs in which to attain the target on a wicket giving little help to the bowlers.
Mitch o’Halleran claimed a wicket with his second ball when the score was on four. Pudney was uncomfortable with Turner’s bowling and was out before the score reached the half century.
Fernlie made 44 before being adjudged leg before off the bowling of Waters and Turk followed shortly after.
Jaffer started to put an innings together as wickets continued to fall at regular intervals and with seven wickets down, and the score on 131, he was joined by Pratt.
They put together a partnership of 99 with Jaffer finishing on 89 not out (fifteen fours and two sixes) and Pratt on 33 not out. Weybridge came away with the better of the draw but find themselves at the foot of the division.
Weybridge are away to Spencer on Saturday.
