Ewell’s Gino Rea remains third in the WSBK Superstock 600 Championship after finishing sixth in the latest round at Brno.
Rea had held second or third places for most of the race but he lostplaces when he got caught through a series of corners on the penultimate lap and then ran onto the grass on the final lap.
“We have to take the positives from this race, but it was a bit frustrating,” said the Stonebaker Racing rider.
“I had the pace to win the race but everytime I got into the lead I couldn’t stay in front on the start straight.
“It is a shame I touched the grass on the last lap as I think I could have podiumed at least.”
Rea now stands 14 points off the top of the championship going into the summer break, with the next roudn at Nurburgring in Germany not until September 6.
“It is still very possible to win the title and we have a few tracks left that I like,” he added.
