The PGA EuroPro Tour moves to Burhill Golf Club in Surrey this week for The Pandora 2009 Open and Matthew Ford and Paul Dwyer are the favourites for the event with official bookmakers Sky Bet.
Order of Merit leader Steve Surry misses the event, joining a number of Tour players in Scotland on the Challenge Tour including number two in the money list Scott Jamieson – so the chasing pack have the chance to take top spot when the tournament kicks off on Thursday (July 30).
Ford (Marriott Tudor Park) and Dwyer (Clitheroe) are the joint 18/1 favourites for the event, with Daniel Gaunt (Burhill GC), Elliot Saltman (Aegon) and Tom Haylock (Ground Construction Ltd) behind the favourites at 20/1.
“With money list leader Steve Surry playing well on the Challenge Tour now, it gives the pack a chance to jump to the head of affairs with a victory in Surrey this week,” said Sky Bet’s John Rhodes.
“The ever consistent Dwyer, with four top five finishes on the EuroPro this year, and in-form Ford head the betting at 18-1, with a host of challengers including Daniel Brooks (28/1 – Mill Hill) and recent winner Paul Maddy (25/1 – Gog Magog) looking for the victory that will take them to number one standing on the Order of Merit and a step nearer to a Challenge Tour card.”
