Hercules Wimbledon's senior men face a tough challenge this weekend if they are to hang on to their third spot in the top division of the Southern Men's League.
The squad is travelling to Bracknell for their final Division One match where they come up against the teams which are in fourth, fifth and eighth place.
Teenager Liam White, who took the bronze medal in the English schools intermediate boys 1500m championship is planning a busy weekend competing for his club tomorrow and then turning out for Surrey in an under 17 inter-counties match at Crawley on Sunday.
Hercules Wimbledon will be without teenager Jonathan Osbourne who is competing for Surrey in the 4x400m relay on Sunday.
One of Hercules Wimbledon's youngest athletes, 12-year-old Eleanor Smith-Hahn, helped Surrey to victory in the annual under girls 13 inter-county match at Kingsmeadow Stadium on Sunday.
She finished fifth in the 200m in 28.39 and was also ran the third leg for the 4x100m relay team helping Surrey to second place.
Meanwhile, Hercules Wimbledon veteran Royden John produced his best legal jump of the summer when he leapt 6.89m in UK Athletics jumps and throws fest in Birmingham last Saturday.
On the road Kieran White was runner-up out of more than 400 runners in the Bushy Park parkrun covering the five kilometres in 16 minutes 21 seconds while Adam Vandenberg, returning to fitness after injury, was the first Hercules Wimbledon runner in the Wimbledon Common parkrun finishing fifth out of 150 runners in 16:57 ahead of Jon Fairs (sixth in 17:00), Phil Glynn (seventh in 17:04), Darren Meredith (eighth in 17:14), Justin Kelly (11th in 17:47) and Andrew Davies (12th in 18:02).
Former marathon international Steve Badgery was second over 60 veteran to finish in the Elmbridge 10km road race at Walton finishing 112th out of almost 650 runners in 40:04.
First Hercules Wimbledon runner was Neil Aitken who was 15th in 34:40 with veteran Peter Lee 30th in 35:48 and Chris Coles 56th in 37:35. Maurice Sharp was sixth in the over 60 veterans category in 43:48,.
Hercules Wimbledon's Francesca Clarke was the first veteran woman to finish the Swanage half-marathon in Dorset finishing 54th out of almost 400 runners in 1:36:45, running alongside her husband, Dave, three times former English cross country champion, who finished one place behinds in the same time.
Veterans track and field team captain John Webster showed record-breaking form when he hurled the javelin 30.69m at a Veterans AC meeting at Kingsmeadow Stadium, to set a Hercules Wimbledon veteran over 70 record.
It beat the previous mark he had set a few days earlier by four metres.
Teenager Geordie Logan also broke a club record when he finished third running against opposition much older than his 15 years in the 2000m steeplechase at the Rosenheim League East division match at Tooting Bec.
He clocked 6:44.14 to better the club's under 17 record. It smnashed the previous mark of 7:07.05 Logan himself set when competing in an inter-county match at Hendon last August.
Hercules Wimbledon's track and field training sessions take place at Wimbledon Park athletics stadium on Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting at 6.30pm and Sunday morning at 10.30am.
