In their fourth Southern League Track and Field fixture of the season at Abingdon, South London Harriers’ women finished third with 121.5 points, behind Reading (165) and Radley (161.5) and ahead of Oxford (101).

There were wins for SLH at 100m, 200m, 400m, 1500m and 3000m and in the javelin for the senior women and numerous PBs.

Natalie Bartley timed 11.7 for 100m, Harriet Field 63.1 for 400m and Georgie Bruinvels 2.25.1 for 800m and 4.49.4 for 1500m.

Sian Mitchell timed 16.8 for the 100m hurdles and 70.00 for 400 hurdles. Chioma Obi-Adewolve threw the discus 29.52m.

There was stronger opposition for the under 15’s, with only one win in the 800m which was a pb of 2.24.9 for Ruth Myburgh.

There were a number of second placings though; the 100m (Kalise Powell, 13.6), 200m (Kalise Powell, 27.6) and 75m hurdles (Reshae McPherson, 13.2), high jump and shot.

In the Elmbridge 10km road race SLH was represented by Alex Halpin, 29th in 35.45, Paul Mitchell, 59th in 37.45, Clare Settle, 158th in 42.15, Caroline Cattini, 256th in 46.13, Pam Iannella, 279th in 46.47, Terry Ward, 388th in 51.07 and Jennie Burdett, 543rd in 58.42.

In the Midweek Gatton Park 10km Sophie Cowper was first lady finisher, David Baker was sixth overall, Paul Mitchell was eighth and Ian Kitching ninth.
