Weybridge were thwarted by the rain in their Surrey Championship Premier Division clash against Spencer.
In a bottom of the table clash on Saturday, Weybridge made a good start when Seren Waters and Zaf Ansari had an opening partnership of 71.
Waters (32) was first out and, for the second week, Ansari found himself undefeated on 49 at lunch with last week’s top scorers already back in the pavilion.
He and his brother, Aki, proceeded to put on 57 before Byrne claimed his first wicket. Court went in the same over which brought Philip Mann to the crease.
Zaf reached his maiden league century with his twelfth four and then holed out two balls later becoming Turk’s second victim.
Wickets fell rapidly thereafter although Mann (30) although Turner’s two sixes off Byrne’s final over lifted the score. Turk returned his best figures of the season with five for forty.
The forecasted rain arrived twenty minutes after the start of Spencer’s innings.
Turner’s first innings gifted Spencer 18 runs but he recovered to take three wickets before the game was called off after three breaks for rain.
The game was reluctantly abandoned after the fourth break with eighteen overs bowled and large puddles on the outfield.
Weybridge are away to Guildford on Saturday when the format reverts to 50 overs.
