Five gymnasts from the Croydon School of Gymnastics attended the first South London Petchey Award Ceremony to receive medals for their outstanding talent.

More than 120 young people aged between 11 and 25 from sports clubs, theatre groups, youth clubs and education centres came together at the Catford Broadway Theatre to receive awards from the Jack Petchey Foundation, a charity established in 1999 to support young people through programmes in schools and youth organisations.

The Croydon gymnasts, Nisal Herath, Bethany Charlton, Armani Stewart, Scott Creasey and Daniel Quick have all been chosen for the respected rewards after demonstrating excellent skill and achievement within their field.

Winners and their families were entertained at the ceremony by dance groups Vortex and Dynamic Groove alongside singer Annastasia Baker.
