Ashford gained a narrow victory over Esher last week -a result which kick-started an action-packed couple of days for the club.
MEN'S MIDWEEK MATCH - ESHER 83 ASHFORD 94
Five triples were played in this match. Both teams won two and lost two triples and one was drawn.
The game was very close throughout with the lead exchanging several times during the match.
However Ashford played better in the latter stage of the game and finished strongly to ease themselves ahead of Esher.
Ashford's best performance was from R.Shelley, A.Blair, Dennis Ayton who won 30 - 15.
RICHMOND BARNES & DISTRICT FINALS
The Ashford men had won their League and were playing against the other League winners North Sheen to win the Trophy. The match consisted of three rinks and the winners requiring to win at least two of them.
Unfortunately for Ashford they were unable to match this seasons performances in the league and could only win one of the rinks with North Sheen winning the others and claiming the trophy.
MIXED MATCH - STAINES 100 ASHFORD 97
Having to field two teams on the same day proved to be a nightmare for the selectors.
However the mixed team gave a good account of themselves and were just beaten by Staines right at the end of the game.
Ashford actually managed to win three of the five rinks played but were beaten on the overall score. Top scorers for Ashford were R.Odell, P.Hill, Dennis Ayton, K.Woodhead with a 19 - 23 victory.
