Leatherhead Swimming Club has appointed a new head coach in David Vine.
He will take overall charge of the club’s coaching programme.
Vine, 27, is a qualified level three coach with a degree in science, health and exercise from Cardiff University, and has a strong background in competitive swimming.
He brings with him 4 years valuable experience as Cardiff Swimming Club’s assistant head coach, one of the country’s largest and most successful clubs. His impressive track record includes managing and coaching many national swimmers, including the 2009 winners of the 11 – 13y girls freestyle relay and the National Swimming League ‘B’ finals.
Vine has worked with David Haller, one of the UK’s top coaches, responsible for numerous Olympic swimmers.
He is passionate about swimming and intends to build on Leatherhead’s reputation as one of the strongest performance clubs in the south-east.
Vine has plans to grow the club at every level, expand the Learn To Swim Academy, instigate educational programmes for swimmers and create a unique progressive club environment that caters for every level of swimmer from learner to elite.
