Aga Hassan was gutted to lose his final county friendly of the season to Middlesex at Putney Town last week – wrecking his 100 per cent home record.

After nine victories, it was Surrey’s only home reverse under his presidency and defeats from four of their last five matches means he completes the year with 14 victories and six defeats from this year’s county friendlies.

Middlesex have had a great year, winning the Home Counties League, and they led throughout the match.

Surrey’s only winning rink was Colin Boozer (South London), Vic Taylor (Surbiton), Bob Love (Belmont) and Alan Bennet (Knaphill), who won 17-12.
