A golf junior hand picked to represent Surrey in a county foursome has helped his team to victory at a competition in Norfolk.
Max Everett-Rose, 17, who is a member of Lingfield Park Golf Club, competed against eight other counties at the tournament in Thetford in Norfolk.
Everett-Rose from Horley, won three out of four of his own matches helping Surrey to win the two day tournament.
Max, who plays at Lingfield Park Golf Course regularly, has a handicap of two and has ambitions to become a professional golfer “It was exciting to have been part of the team that won the whole south-east tournament,” he said.
“All the practicing and training I did at Lingfield Park Golf Club is really paying off.
“I have been very lucky to work with two great coaches.
Luke Ringrose taught me the revolutionary ‘right sided golf swing’ and Dan Abraham who works with me on my mind management.
“I also have huge support and encouragement from Hurring Elite. I am really looking forward to the future.”
Lingfield Park Golf Club Operations Manager and PGA Professional Chris Morley said: “We are very proud of Max and what he is achieving.
“It is great that one of Lingfield Park’s own junior golfers is beginning to make such an impact. He’s already showing so much promise. We think that Max Everett-Rose may be one to watch in the future.”
Max is sponsored and supported by Hurring Elite, an organisation named after Paul Hurring, a promising young golfer and European touring professional who died tragically at a very young age.
