Staines-based stock car driver Adrian Blackwell earned the white-top C grade award after a heat two second place at Northampton International Raceway on Sunday.
A star-studded field of BriSCA F2 Stock Cars were in action in their World Masters Event and Blackwell was pipped by Nigel Green.
“I am a little disappointed not not have won the heat, but Green was flying,” said Blackwell.
“As a white-top you have got to be happy with a second place and making the feature race on a day like this.”
In the final, hits from several of the blue and red tops saw Blackwell fall back in the field but he made back some ground to finish 17th of the 32 starters.
His next appearance is in a domestic meeting at Arena Essex on Sunday, September 27.
