Second-time runner Matthew MORGAN (SM30-34) from Striders of Croydon AC won the Roundshaw Downs 5km park run for the first time in a time of 18 minutes, one second, writes Nicola Stevenson.

Jack-Louis BOURNE (JM15-19) representing South London Harriers took second by 17 seconds recording 18:18.

Unattached runner Robert SHARPE, (SM25-29) placed third in a time of 19:02.

In her first appearance, Josephine THOMPSON (SW30-34) of Striders of Croydon AC won in a time of 21:29 for the first time.

THOMPSON beat Emily COOK (SW25-29), who clocked 25:15, ahead of Abbie BURRETT, (JW14) in 25:52.

In today's age-graded competition, Jack-Louis BOURNE recorded a performance of 72.86%.

In the points competition Peter WALSH has a lead of 107 points over second-placed Bill RIXON.

Annette HELLIWELL leads Abbie BURRETT by 47 in the women's competition.

This week there were 14 first timers - 20 runners recorded PBs, bringing the total number since the Roundshaw Downs started to 229.

In this time, 329 runners from 37 different clubs have completed the race 685 times covering a distance of 3,425km.

The male course record is held by Richard WARD who ran 16:24 on 26/09/09, event #11.

The female equivalent is held by Beckie WOODLAND who ran 19:40 on 18/07/09, event #1.
