City of London Freemen’s School hosted took two team titles when it hosted first invitational cross country event.
The Ashtead school produced the individual winner of the U10 girls trophy, with Rachel Slater running a brilliant tactical race to lead the school to the team trophy.
She was backed by by Anna Whitworth in third, Emma Bridgeland in eighth, Alicia Wilson in 13th and Aisling Slater in 15th.
Freemans also won the U12 girls team trophy thanks to Millie Reed in third, Georgia West sixth, Tatiana Dudnikova seventh and Freddie Penniket-Dessent 12th.
Cranmore won the U10s boys’ team event although Cobham-based Danes Hill provided the individual winner in Elliott Jones.
Harry Spanforth of Danes Hill was individual boys’ U12 winner, leading his school to victory in a closely contested team event.
Ms Alison Bennett, PE and Games Teacher at Freemen’s said: “Well done to all the runners who took part. We hope this inaugural event will become a permanent fixture in the School’s calendar.”
