The 13 boats that contested Sunday’s GP14 Open Meeting at Hampton sailing club enjoyed some excellent sailing.
Race one had Ben Kaplan crewed by Chris Lomax from Seahorse Sailing Club stormed in front from the start and, although the pack reduced their advantage, they never seriously challenged for first position.
Second spot was to go to James Ward crewed by Richard Whitehill from Papercourt , with third going to David Innes crewed by John Denyer from Frensham Pond Sailing Club whilst the leading Hampton boats were tied in fourth place.
Hampton’s Derek and Mary May opened up an early lead in the second race.
But, with the wind falling very light, they were overtaken on the second lap by clubmate Richard Parslow, crewed by Jaki Pring.
In a one-two-three for Hampton, Keith Edwards, crewed by Nick Goulter, was second, with Kevin and Maddie Anderson third.
Richard Parslow led the third and deciding race from the start, closely followed by David Innes. Derek May came through from seventh to take third place ahead of Keith Edwards and Kevin Anderson.
Final results: 1 13172 Richard Parslow from Hampton Sailing Club crewd by Jaki Pring.
