Sam Still won New Malden Pool-based No Tanx Diving Club’s annual dive-off at West Country dive site Vobster Quay.
Still descended 32m, without the assistance of fins and a wetsite, winning the prize of an Immersion Dive Watch. Dan Betts finished second.
In the freediving competition each diver has just one attempt to perform a pre-planned diver, holding their breaths, then to emerge holding a tag plucked from the bottom of the rope.
This year dives ranged from 9m to 32m in the quarry in Somerset, where the British Freediving Association has a permanent training platform – name the Lilly Pad.
