Epsom & Ewell gained a surprise win in the Priory cross country relays at Reigate on Saturday seeing off last year's women's winners, South London Harriers.
The three fastest laps of the day were all achieved on the opening lap as Georgie Bruinvels (15 minutes 25 seconds) brought South London in 15 seconds ahead of Epsom's Emily Alden who clocked the second fastest time of the day.
Karen Ellison (15:48) brought Herne Hill in third.
Zoe West (17:11) clawed back nine seconds of South London's lead and then, on the final leg, Issy Brinsden (16:04) stormed ahead to bring Epsom home in 48:55, well clear of South London (49:37) with Herne Hill (49:50) a close third.
Suzanne Swaine (18:06) and Suzie Richards (15:56) were the other members of the bronze medal-winning team.
First leg runner Natalie Warren (17:03) was the fastest member of the Walton team which was fifth in 52:28.
Last year's winners, Herne Hill, also lost out in the men's event where they were overhauled on the last leg by Tonbridge who won in 1:22:50.
The Herne Hill sextet of Alan Barnes (13:37), Chris Busaileh (13:34), Tim Elsey (14:11), Kevin Quinn (13:22), Simon Coombes (14:41) and Dave Robinson (14:01) clocked 1:23:26.
Running for the non-scoring Edinburgh University old boys team Thames Hare & Hounds' James McMullan (13:09) clocked the fastest lap time of the day.
Epsom and Ewell were third in 1:26:57. Their team was Matt Donnery (14:37), Richard Turner (15:20), Clayton Payne (13:55), Will Clark (13:48), Alex Hawkins (14:37) and Phil Sanger (14:40).
