Australian Jimmy Goulis continued his dominance of the Bushy Park parkrun event last Saturday, winning his fourth race in a row and 13th in total.
The Stragglers runner, who returns home to Melbourne next month, equals Richard Stannard’s effort of consecutive wins and now has Dermot Cummins’s mark of five straight victories in his sights.
Goulis clocked 16 minutes, 18 seconds to finish eight seconds clear of St Mary’s Richmond’s Ross Franks (16:26) and Ron Taylor, of Kingston AC & Polytechnic Harriers (17:15).
In her maiden appearance, Loughborough Students runner Abbey McGhee was the first woman home (17:31), with Naomi Ferguson, of Dubai Creek Striders (21:02), second and 26.2 RRC’s Sharon Andrew third (21:10).
In Banstead Woods, Chris Phelan claimed victory in 17:52, while fellow South London Harrier Helen Wilson was the women’s winner (20:13).
Their clubmate Jason Simpson set a course record in winning the Roundshaw Downs event, clocking 16:20. Race director Nicola Stevenson, of Collingwood AC, made a rare start and claimed the women’s event in 23:14.
On Wimbledon Common, Serpentine’s Eoin O’Connell claimed his sixth win in seven starts in 17:04.
Zoe Phillips (20:46) claimed victory in the women’s event.
