Richmond Knights have teamed up with Richmond Council to provide wheelchair basketball sessions at St Mary’s University.
Open to disabled and non-disabled people, the free sessions from 1.30-3.30pm on February 14, February 28, March 14 and March 28, are aimed at youngsters aged 10-18 and wheelchairs and equipment are supplied.
Cllr Liz Jaeger, Cabinet Member for Youth, Culture and Leisure on Richmond Council said: “The sessions should be fantastic fun, with advice and support from the some of the borough’s best players.
“We are delighted to be able to offer our support by providing the equipment, and the facilities at St Mary’s are first class.”
Richmond Knights’ Head Coach, James Merchant, said: “The club are working with St Mary’s and the Richmond Sports Development team to provide opportunities for young people to learn the fast and exciting game of basketball, and the wheelchair sessions are a great way of making the game more accessible.”
