Reigning double British triathlon champion and 2012 Olympic hopeful, Will Clarke, is preparing to get hearts racing at the ‘Multipower Indoor Time Trial’ – one of the feature attractions at this year’s Triathlon Cycling & Running & Show, on 13-14 February at Sandown Park in Esher, Surrey.
Clarke will be looking to meet his match during the Valentine weekend, as he posts the time to beat over a challenging 5km hilly course. Both the male and female participants setting the fastest times will win a day of pre-season training with Clarke at the Loughborough Sports Academy in March.
Clarke, 24, from Cambridge, was crowned World U23 Triathlon Champion in 2006 and went on to secure back-to-back British Triathlon Championships titles in 2008 and 2009.. He is an ambassador for leading sports nutrition company, Multipower and now has his sights firmly set on the London 2012 Olympic Games.
During the show, Clarke will be on hand on both Saturday and Sunday to offer training advice and share sports nutrition tips with aspiring triathletes and watch, as they test their speed on one of the six time trial bikes on the stand.
The ‘Multipower Indoor Time Trial’ competition, which has been developed in association with Computrainer and www.les-stables.com, is open to all non-sponsored athletes. Every competitor will receive a 100cl Multipower drinks bottle and runners-up will earn a Multipower goody bag, filled with sports nutrition products from the company’s Active Range..
Speaking ahead of the show, Clarke commented: “This year’s TCR show looks set to be better than ever and has heaps of fun stuff aimed at endurance sports enthusiasts of all abilities. I’m looking forward to meeting people on the Multipower stand and hopefully setting a tough Time Trial target for people to challenge.
“The realisation of the importance of sports nutrition seems to grow massively year on year and I expect a lot of interest on the stand, where people can sample the Multipower Active range, ask advice about and buy products to set themselves up for the season.”
The Multipower Indoor Time Trial will be located at Stand A36 at the Triathlon, Cycling & Running Show. Now in its eighth year, the show unites stars, enthusiasts and over 130 leading brands from the world of swimming, cycling and running.
