Crystal Palace will roll back the years when it hosts Motorsport at the Palace - a two-day sprint event - over the May Bank Holiday Weekend.
Organised by Sevenoaks & District Motor Club, the event on May 30 and 31 will allow visitors to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the legendary machines which powered the likes of Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart and Stirling Moss to victory.
Martin Chinnery, chairman of Sevenoaks DMC, said: “Thanks to a lot of hard work and the support of our title sponsor, the Ancaster Group, we're delighted that fans will once again be able to experience racing at the Palace.
“The range of cars competing, coupled with additional events and displays, will make this a fantastic event for everyone, whether you're a motorsport fan or just after a fun day out.
Crystal Palace is the oldest motor racing circuit in the world, having been first used in 1899. It held international fixtures until 1972 when modern safety standards and a lack of funds brought an end to racing at the venue.
It enjoyed a brief renaissance from 1997 and 2000 when Sevenoaks DMC ran a series of successful sprints, which ended when work began on a Millennium project in the park.
Competitors will each donate a minimum £10 in support of St Christopher's Hospice and the Royal London Society for the Blind.
Tickets are priced at £10 per day with advance tickets available at a discount from www.motorsportatthepalace.co.uk
