Collingwood Athletics Club’s Allan Rumbles took part in the 66-mile Pilgrim Challenge North Downs Way Multi-Stage Ultra held over two days, writes Alison Fox.
Held along the North Downs trackway from Farnham to Merstham, Rumbles finished 14th on day one in five hours 37 minutes.
This classed him as an elite runner for the following day, in which he clocked 5.36 to finish as fourth male veteran and 10th overall.
Collingwood women finished 20th out of 38 teams in their final Surrey Women’s Cross Country League fixture of the season on Wimbledon Common.
Collingwood runners: 50 Nicola Stevenson 39.34, 83 Ruth Cottam W40 42.54, 103 Annette Helliwell W50 44.52.
Collingwood runners shone in 5km parkruns this week with Richard Fox and Bob Chart third and eighth respecively on Roundshaw Downs, while Shaun Cooney and Steve Cooney took fourth and sixth in Banstead Woods.
