Ranelagh Harriers’ Liz Kipling enjoyed her best Surrey Ladies Cross Country League result, at the age of 36, on Saturday.
In the final race of the season, won by Thames Hare & Hounds’ Julia Bleasdale, Kipling finished an impressive fourth.
Ranelagh fnished fifth of the day and closed the season fourth out of 15 clubs in Division One.
Other Ranelagh finishers: 19 Marie Synnott-Wells, 33 Sarah Smith, 41 Sara Grosvenor, 67 Bronwen Fisher.
However, Ranelagh men have been relegated to Division Two despite saving their best performance till last, finishing sixth in Guildford.
Ranelagh finishers: 21 Phil Killingley, 34 David Benton, 49 Peter Haarer, 77 Ed Barker, 87 Darryl McDonald, 93 Nathan Mills, 96 Trevor Maguire, 100 Niall O’Connor, 103 Howard Gleave, 104 Andy Bickerstaff.
