Twickenham Brunswick’s Alfie Shrubb was beaten on a points decision in the London ABA Schoolboys final last weekend.
Shrubb, competing in the 13-year-old class, gave his all against East Londoner Freddie Baker of the Repton Club, having qualified with a comfortable win at the semi-finals in Feltham a fortnight ago.
Manager Tony Rabbett and trainer Lee Williams admitted Shrubb had been beaten by the better fighter on the day, but the youngster himself is determined to go one better next year.
