Epsom’s Gino Rea is set to make his World Supersport debut for Intermoto Honda at Phillip Island in Australia later this month.
First, though, is a official test at the Melbourne circuit on February 21-22, a week before the race.
“I am so excited. Just to get out of this country and to some sunshine is pleasing enough, let alone the thought of getting back on to a bike,” he said.
“We have a two-day test on the 21st, so I can learn the circuit and start to find a set-up to be ready for the race weekend.
“My plan at the moment is to work hard with my tech Andy to improve in every session, the suspension, my riding and electronics.
“I feel I have done the most I can to be ready for this challenge, from studying previous races and learning the track on Playstation to training and being the fittest I have ever been. Let’s see how it goes.”
You can see how the 20-year-old fares in the race on Eurosport on February 28.
