Striders of Croydon provided four runners in the first 40 at the Surrey Cross Country Championships in Lloyd Park on Saturday, writes Alan Dolton.
Matt Morgan led the way in 23rd, covering the muddy 12km course in 44 minutes, 33 seconds, leading Striders to seventh in the team event.
Other Striders finishers: 27 Justin Macenhill 45.23, 36 Steve Starvis 46.16, 38 Lee Flanagan 46.30, 75 Barry White 51.59, 105 Graham Williams 1:05.57.
Striders’ women were led by Alice Ewen, who covered the 8km course in 39.46 to finish 44th.
Other Striders finishers: 62 Linda Daniel 45.01, 68 Lisa Jackson 59.01.
Meanwhile, Striders had 35 finishers in the Brighton Half-Marathon on Sunday.
Leading Striders men: 99 Simon Ambrosi 1:24.37, 167 Richard Lee-Smith 1:26.35, Ben Farcourt 1:27.24, Paul Finch 1:28.39, Matt Chapman 1:28.47, Chris Morton 1:29.09, Ian Yates 1:29.56.
Leading Striders women: Josephine Thompson 1:44.34, Lesley Bourke 1:50.30, Serena Stracey 1:51.26, Simon Hansbury 1:54.07, Amanda Barros 1:56.38.
Alan Dolton finished fifth in Saturday morning’s Roundshaw Downs 5km parkrun, covering the frozen 5km course in 21:42.
Other Striders finishers: 9 Nick Eaves 22.46, 23 Chris Smith 26.07, 24 Martin Gourlay 26.19, 35 Kim Ford 29.43.
