South London Storm will be sponsored by Arriva London for the 2010 season.
It means the Arriva logo will feature on the playing kit and training wear for Storm’s three open-age teams, the academy, women’s and masters teams.
Part of the agreement will see Arriva support junior development in South London through their backing of the new West Croydon Broncos club.
Arriva will also support minis festivals in South London as well as taking naming rights to the two major Storm festivals, ‘Storm into Summer’ and ‘Stormin Saturday’.
In a first for the club, Arriva will promote Storm on more than 50 buses in the South London area for the duration of the summer season, promoting Rugby League to thousands of passengers every day.
Dave Jones, commercial support manager for Arriva London, said: “Arriva have been great supporters of Rugby League and Community sport for a while and we are delighted to be backing South London Storm. Like us they have a strong presence in South London and the work they do to promote Sport in the Community to all ages and levels is admirable and something we are keen to help grow.”
Storm General Manager Giovanni Cinque said: “Arriva have a strong presence in Croydon and Lambeth and are very keen to promote the benefits of sport and physical activity to local communities. We thank Arriva for their support and look forward to working with them closely”
