Wimbledon Speedway host a testiimonial fundraising night for former skipper Buzz Burrows this Saturday (7-11pm).
A serious racing accident at the end of last season left him with a number of broken ribs, a punctured lung that had to be drained of blood and consequent pneumonia.
Wimbledon chairman Ian Perkin said: “We will be showing films of speedway racing on a big screen including film of Buzz winning the Laurels speedway championship at Plough Lane’s last speedway meeting in 2005.”
The event will be held at St John’s Church Hall, 411 Malden Road, Worcester Park.
Admission is free.
