It was an action packed weekend for the Herne Hill Harriers Athletics Club which saw one of its talented young athletes win gold and silver in the England Indoor Championships.
Katie Snowden, one of the club’s emerging superstars, excelled at the Indoor Championships in Birmingham on Saturday to take silver medal in the U17 women’s 300m race, setting a new personal best of 40.2 seconds. Katie followed up this superb performance by taking gold in the U17 women’s 800m on Sunday.
The young Harrier adds to her collection of prestigious national titles including the English Schools and Schools International outdoor titles from the summer of 2009 and looks certain to impress in the coming track and field season.
Meanwhile, Herne Hill Harriers senior men finished 15th out of 107 teams at the National Cross Country Championships in Roundhay Park, Leeds.
