Kingston's John Parfitt has finally earned his place in the top 30 of the quad singles wheelchair tennis world rankings following a brace of titles at the North West Challenge in Preston, Britain's first world ranking event of the 2010 NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour.

World ranked No 31 after back-to-back tournaments in Sydney and Melbourne, Parfitt scooped the first international singles title of his career at the ITF Futures event in Preston and has subsequently moved to No 29 in the world rankings published by the International Tennis Federation.

The 31-year-old Surrey player secured straight sets wins in the first two of his three scheduled round-robin matches against fellow Britons Liam O'Reilly and Adam Field to set up a decisive contest against Oxfordshire's Danny Robbins, who was also unbeaten after his first two matches.

Robbins gained the first breakthrough in the first set of the crucial contest, but Parfitt would not be outdone and came back strongly to prevail 3-6 6-3, 6-4.

After the first singles title of his career, Parfitt went on to clinch the second quad doubles title of his career, partnering Middlesex's O'Reilly to beat Field and Robbins in similar fashion, once again coming from behind for a 5-7, 6-1, 6-4 victory. Parfitt secured his maiden quad doubles title at January's Melbourne Open.
