Harlequins RL sank to the bottom of the Super League pile after Sunday's disappointing 26-22 defeat to fellow strugglers Salford at the Stoop.
Despite racing into an 18-4 lead early in the second half thanks to tries from Danny Orr, Karl Temata and Lamont Bryan the Londoners were unable to hold onto their advantage and were punished by a Steven Tyrer hat-trick.
Ben Jones-Bishop did grab a further late try for the home side, but by then it was too little, too late.
The defeat saw the Reds leapfrog Quins in the table and sees Brian McDermott's men languishing at the foot after just one win from their opening six games.
And there was more injury woe, with Jason Golden suffering a suspected dislocated shoulder after landing awkwardly after being caught full in the face by a Karl Fitzpatrick clearing kick.
Karl Temata also limped off with a reocurrence of his hamstring injury.
