Molesey Boat Club’s Olympic stars put Cambridge University to the sword as the Light Blues warmed up for their annual clash with Oxford next month over the Boat Race course on Sunday.
Beijing gold medalists Andrew Triggs-Hodge and Tom James were joined in the Molesey eight by fellow Olympians Acer Nethercott (cox) and Tom Solesbury as they twice triumphed in the two-piece race.
Molesey, who also boasted five world championship oarsmen in their line-up, won the first leg from the University Stone to Harrods Depository by three quarters of a length and then the second - from St Paul’s School to Mortlake - by a length and a half.
